Originating first with American and Canadian fur traders, Shenandoah was a song sung by these explorers traveling down the Missouri River. The story told throughout the song is a love story between a fur trader and the daughter of the celebrated Oneida chief, Shenandoah. This arrangement for brass quintet by Joseph Reid features simple, yet beautiful playing by each member of the group.
